#1614  Shaped Postcard - Fu (Luck) SC11

Item #: SC11 (Category: Shaped Postcards)

Descriptions: Shaped Postcard

Title: 福 (Luck)

Size:
13cm x 13cm

Good to Know: The character is 福, fu. It means fortune or luck.  In Chinese, saying Fu dao le means "luck or fortune has arrived". But the word "dao" can also imply to fall down or turn upside-down. So, literally turning the character 福, fu, upside-down is a play on words implying fortune has arrived.  Many Chinese hang this character upside down on doors hoping for good fortune for the new year.
